I haven't posted for a while, but I have been busy.

Speaking of busy. I have stock my booths at the Antique Malls with new merchandise for the holiday season.

At Moms Antique Mall in Oronoco we have a holiday sale going right now. Evey single booth is having a sale with 10% to 25% PERCENT off. This coming Saturday, Dec 13th we will be having a open house. Besides our sale we will be offering treats for your shopping pleasure. A lot of the dealers will be there to help you with your shopping. We look forward to seeing you.

I recently opened a shop on Ruby Lane. I will be putting exception antique and vintage items in this shop.

Hello All, Lots of New items and a Sale

I have added items to all my sites. I have added a few items on Wensy too. On Ebay I have some very nice gold bracelets and stunning pieces of vintage jewelry.

In my store www.pamtiques.com I have added a few pieces of beautiful sterling jewelry. I will get more added this weekend too. I have even marked several pieces on sale.

On Ebay if you go to my about me page- no I did not get rid of it, I decided to use it for advertising within the constraints of Ebay, but if they can find a way to zing me they will. But there is a coupon code on my about me page that can be used on www. pamtiques.com.

For those that sell on one or more sites here is a great directory that is off and running. You can list all the sites you sell in one location, www.everyplaceisell.com. Take a look at it and use it to help you find great things.

In October Ebay will have a new policy that say we as sellers cannot advertise or let you the buyer know we take paper payments ( checks or MO). We sellers have lots of templates and formats to clean up. Ebay of course will use their general form of inforcement- shut down any listing with out warning and in some cases merit- just Suprise!!.

But you the buyer of course have the final word, you can ask your seller if they will take paper payment, but you have to initiate the request. Sellers cannot have it as an option. They say it is safer for you the buyer and it will cut down on NPB complaints. Apprently Ebay thinks that you the buyer are not capable of making sound decissions on how to make payment.

They now have an 'acceptable payment policy'. Plus in all the verbage they have been spewing they keep only mentioned Pay Pal and Pro Pay and on then on the side, metion possible others. Most of the others are not US based. Pay Pal needs to make more moeny- so they are going to try and force you to use it or one of companies they have a finger in. They say other companies will be added, once they meet Pay Pals 'stringent standards' to make sure they are safe for you the buyer to use.

What they are not saying, the companies in the US they will take and accept, must have to lockstep with pay pal, you figure out what that means. They have stated they will not ever accept Google check out or Amazon payments, as they are direct competitors.

Really- how safe is Pay PAl, they charge sellers fees to use the product, then make sure that award all buyer claims, without any type of investigation, although they will send you the seller verbage that they did investigate the claim. But when the email that says they awareded the claim comes before you provide any evidence that the claim is flase kinda says it all.

Well I just closed my Ebay Store. I nolonger need it , with my other sites I have been selling more than on Ebay. I will run Ebay auctions, but of course they will be fewer.

With Ebay now saying that we cannot take checks or money orders is sorta the last straw. I have a few customers who do not want to pay online. I do accept checks and money orders and it is not a problem, the buyer knows they have to wait for it to clear before I ship.

Also I still have not gotten a real response on why they ended my Boucher listing, I relisted it and it sold. But I wanted to know why they chose to end just that listing and not all my listings. All my listing point to my about me page.

Today I got an email that say it is becuase I have my url as my water mark. But when I go look at the links and URL policy it says nothing like that, of course Ebay is good at making a policy a bit flexible, so they can bend it to meet their needs, forget the seller.

As always I will be happy to combine shipping between all my web locations. You can pay by check or money order. If you buy from one of the sites that I accept Google checkout on, you can combine all you payments through Google check out. We can make it work.

Gold Rush

Well we made it through Gold Rush. This year the weather was almost perfect. We had rain on Wednesday and Thursday, but it was dry and sunny Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Moms Antique Mall did well. We had extended hours and we were busy. We had lots of sales.
People have asked what sold the most and really I cannot say. There does not seem to be a trend towards any one type of item. We sold a little of everything. I can say that for the majority of the items sold, it was less expensive items.

We did have an artist from Chicago buy 100's of crocheted potholders for a project he was working on. We also sold jewelry, kitchen items, a few crocks, a bit of elegant glass, vintage clothing, shoes, hats, purses, prints, post cards, paper items, figurines and more..It was a fun time. We enjoy interacting with all our customers.

At the Antique Mall on 3rd St in Rochester we had customers, but since the weather was so nice we did not have a lot. Still it was a good weekend .

Here we go again

Hey here we go again. Ebay ended another listing for me. It was the listing with the highest bid, highest listing fee, highest final value fee. Why? Because my about me page had www.pamtiques.com in my favorite links and provided a link to this blog. Now mind you, all my listings point to my about me page, but the one they chose to end for policy viloation was the one that would get them the most money....

Anyway I revised my about me page and relisted the item, for a 3 day auction.

I think I will just eliminate my about me page, Ebay no longer allows it to be about you, it can only be about Ebay.

New Merchandise

At one auction this weekend I bought a huge collection of Sarah Coventry jewelery. It was from the estate of a 95 year old lady in SE Minnesota. She recently moved into a rest home and her personal property and home were sold at auction. She was married and had 3 or 4 sons. She lived in this same house for over 35 years. Since she did not have any girls her nieces were her 'girls'. Several of the girls were at the auction and they told the story about their Aunt selling Sarah Coventry and Avon for many years. For a while she sold Contempo Designs after Sarah Coventry went out of business. She always believed that you should wear a dress, necklace, earrings and bracelets, along with your high heels when every you left the house. She even dressed up to mow the law after the kids were on there own and her husband was gone.

There were lots and lots of Sarah Coventry jewelry, watch my sites for these great pieces to appear during the coming days.

I am starting the phase out of my Ebay store. With this process I am moving the store items to my other sites. I will be spreading them out amoung the sites.

Take a moment and look and see what is new. For some of the items I lowered the prices greatly.

I went to a couple of auctions this weekend, so check back for updates on the fresh merchandise that I will be putting in the stores. I may even have a new web site for part of it, I am not sure I will do that yet, but it is a posibility.

At the Mall again today & Back with auctions on Ebay

Yesterday the 10th was the 2 week period. I had emailed Ebay on the 9th, being a bit proactive to get a response from Ebay, to make sure they removed the restrictions, since it takes them for ever to respond to a message. Then I sent a reply to their email notice like they say in their instructions. I have yet to get any replys, but I was able to create auctions again. So go find what I have on Ebay.

We had some nasty weather yesterday while I was working at the mall in Oronoco in the early afternoon, there was a wall cloud, some pretty heavy wind and lots of really hard rain. By the end of the day, it had almost dried up.

Tody I am at 3rd St again, hopefully it will be a good day.

Working at 3rd St Today

I am working at the Antique Mall on 3rd St today, if you are in the area stop in and say high. My work partner is sure to have a joke for you to brighten the day.

It is suppose to be nice out today with lower humidity, so it will be a good day for a walk.

I am working on pictures of new products (items) so look for them in the sites below. Hopefully on Thursday I will have some listed at auction on Ebay. My Ebay store items are down to 100 and as the month ends, they will be gone. I will move some of them to my other store fronts, some will be placed in a lot and sold either on Ebay or in the brick and motor locations.

I have a bunch of fabric, lace and notions. I will be adding them to a store in the near future.
I also have several books on Animal Husbandry and Science. I will be listing them in a store soon too.

Enjoy the day, if you are in the middle of Kansas where it is suppose to be a bit exciting weather wise, keep and eye on the sky and ear to the radio, this time of year it can get a bit dicey.

It has been busy the past few days

We breezed through the 4th of July, it was a beautiful day, actually the weekend weather has been almost perfect, but I see rain is possible today.

I know know who was the person that reported me for shill bidding. But of course Ebay will do nothing about it. I have tried unsuccessfully to get the restrictions removed, but Ebay refuses to do the right thing. They make no exceptions to the policies, even if they are wrong.

Time to move on to other venues. At least I will be saving money with other sites and I can sell my items for less

Got an Ebay reply- retoric

Well I got the expected reply from Ebay, just short of 72 hours, it was nothing but retoric. I am hearing more and more stories about sellers who have been hit by hidden ebay policies. You know the ones dreamed up to cover one unusall situation.

I am still appealing- at the very least my voice will be heard.

We had a good day at the Antique Mall today. The rain stopped early this morning and it was even partly sunny most of the day.

Its a wet Friday Morning

Ok its a new day, rainy and wet, but still a new day.
I am going to be working at the Antique Mall on 3rd St, 18 3rd St SW, Rochester MN, today.
This is Rochester Fest week and the MN Quilters are having their annual meeting here in Rochester so I hope we are busy. If you are in the area, stop in and say hi. We would love to see you.

Tonight I will be planning the exit of selling on Ebay- still no response from trust and safety.
If you know of sites that have good sell thru let me know. I figure the more places we share with each other the better the business for all of us.

Ebay in all its Wonder

As many of you have seen and felt Ebay is no longer your first option for selling or buying. The latest changes have impacted the sellers more, but buyers will feel the fall out too. Fewer sellers means fewer items for buyers, less supply, higher demand along with higher prices.

My latest story took place today.
I left for the Antique Mall with 306 listings, auction and store, this morning. At 2:00 PM CST I had 301 listings and found that I had sold some store items! All very good. .
Then at 6:00 when I get home I find that all my listings were ended and I was being restricted on Ebay for Shill Bidding. The definition of shill bidding is a bidder placing bids on an item to raise the final selling price of an item with no intent to purchase it. If you are an auction goer you probably do not like shill bidders, in most cases you may just up and leave. I do not like shill bidders, would not be one or even think about it.

They have taken it well beyond the standard definition.

My brother and his life partner live in my house. They run their own business and have no association with mine. They had a friend who consigned an item to them to be listed. It was a piece of jewelry. Since it is important to have the correct description on Ebay they asked me about the piece. It happened to be a piece of jewelry that falls into my area of expertise and interest. I provided them information on what the item was so they could have the correct listing. It was a regular auction. I did not have any more information on the item then was in the auction listing- after all the information in the listing came from me. A few days after the auction started I entered a bid on it, it had a starting bid of $49.99 so I bid $50.00. That was the max amount I wanted to pay for it. I liked it ,but not willing to pay more than that. It of course ended up going much higher than what I wanted to pay. However the final value was well within the range such items sell on Ebay.

According to Ebays wonderful and support trust and safety I did shill bidding, because my brother and partner live in my home, they assumed I had information that other bidders did not. The information in the listing was the information I provided them. I did not not have any more information then the other bidders except that I did hold it to examine it so they could have the correct information in the listing. In their superior infinite wisdom they ended all 300 of my listings as punishment for 'shill bidding'. Oh by the way, I do not get any fees back either.

Oh it gets worse. The only way to reach trust and safety is by email, if you are lucky you will get a response in 24-72 hours. I wanted to speak with a real person so called in to their support center and waited 45 minutes before I got a real person on the line. A very nice young man, but he could not help me in any way, since it was a trust and safety issue and the only way to work with them is email. I did rant a bit, but I apologized to him. Then went on tell him that if trust and safety were so important to Ebay, we should be able to verbally talk to someone that can actually do something.

Now the correct thing to have done would have been to place a call to me- or send me an email telling me I violated their rules. Tell me what I did wrong and to not do it again. But no, that is not the way they handled it. I have responded to the email and gave them the details on what happened- even though they did not ask me why I bid on it. I then asked that they do the positive thing for the community and release all restrictions and restore my listing. I doubt they will but thats fine. I will take my money and business somewhere else.

I have been working to move away from Ebay, lots of reasons, but mostly I cannot afford to do business with them any longer, they keep raising fees and placing more restrictions on how I do business. So since they are a service provider and they can no longer provide the service I need I will find other providers. In doing that go to www.pamtiques.com . I don't want this blog to become a ebay downer, I know there are many many who are very upset with Ebay. There are plenty of blogs to post on that are Ebay downers.

I just want you to know why I have a smaller presence on Ebay and where you can find me now. As I start exploring other sites for selling I will keep you posted.
